What is black mold?

How can it impact my health?

Like we said above, mold in your house is not known to cause cancer or lung disease. But mold can still pose a significant threat to your health, and some people are more sensitive to it than others. The umbrella term mycotoxicosis refers to all of the ill effects one can experience due to mold exposure. Symptoms can include coughing or wheezing, a sore throat, and itchy or red eyes. However, all of the above may actually be symptomatic of a mold allergy. At its worst, severe mold allergies can lead to shortness of breath. You should also keep in mind that mold is known to exasperate symptoms of existing respiratory conditions, such as asthma.
