If you have a basement window, chances are you want some sort of protective installation for it. Window wells are the perfect solution for this application. These are either square/semi-circular excavations that surround a basement window. They could typically be built of masonry, plastic, pressure-treated wood or corrugated galvanized metal. They serve a variety of functions:
- Allow sunlight into your below-ground level basement
- Prevent moisture damage to the basement window that is at/below grade level
- These wells keep the soil away, even as they allow water to easily drain away from the structure of the house

How to tell whether you require a window well, or need to replace an existing one
- If you have a below-ground basement window in your house, it’s a good idea to get a window well installed. It will prevent water seepage into any existing entry points in this area. It’s one of the best ways to mitigate potential water damage.
- If you find that the water in the window well isn’t draining as effectively as it should, or if you find sediment filling up in that area, its best to get the well replaced.
Window well installation process
When we handle installation of this feature, the job is completed in a detailed manner:
- A trench will be opened under your basement window
- A drain will be installed to carry water out of the well
- The trench sloping and pipe installation will be done carefully to carry the water away
- Our installers then test the system to check whether it works the way it should
